3 Scenarios: Eat a Light Breakfast if You Have Acne

So typically, most of us, when we wake up are hopping in the shower, brushing our teeth, and then getting ready for school, work, or getting ready for a selfie.

Then we go downstairs and get something to eat. This part usually falls into a few categories:

Scenario #1: I’m in a RUSH, I gotta go.

So you’re on the run and what, I think most of us do here, is pick up breakfast on the go. Or maybe we grab some doughnuts, a bagel with some cream cheese, or a croissant and eat that in the car.

Or maybe we stop by Starbucks, a coffee shop, or just grab a cup from the office. “Easy on the cream but double … no triple up on the brown sugar … It’s healthier than regular sugar.”

Sort of, but still not really helping if you have acne.

The problem here is that the foods here like coffee with cream and sugar, croissants, or bagels with cream cheese are not absolutely going to ruin your face but they’re definitely aggravating your acne. Not help and not ruining your face, but definitely hurting your acne a little.

Also, these foods are acidic and they contribute to the overall acidity of your body which leads to inflammation which leads to acne.

Scenario #2: Forget breakfast.

Some of us are in so much of a rush that we just need to get out of the house!

If you’re like me, this probably sounds familiar because you just wanted that extra 5 minutes of sleep.

This scenario is actually a little bit better than the first one because at least you’re prolonging the fasting cycle that your body is going through. You’re probably going to have a hard time keeping weight on if you’re trying to build muscle, but this is actually not as bad.

If you’ve ever noticed, if you stop eating food right now and fasted for about a week, you won’t have any new pimples. This is because you’re not creating anymore acidity with the foods you’re eating and your body is trying to get back to equilibrium.

The result is no more breakouts.

Obviously though, this is not a realistic long term solution. But that’s okay, I have the solution with my program The Acne Free DietHERE.

Scenario #3: What’s for breakfast, mom / girlfriend / wife?

She’s an amazing cook and you love her. For the sake of getting carried away, let’s just say she makes the typical eggs, sausages, hash browns with some milk and maybe a piece of fruit.

The problem here is that your body just woke up and it’s not ready for all this food. Wait until later in the day to have a heavy meal like this. Not so soon after you wake up (or right before you go to sleep)

Scenario #4: CEREAL!!!

Kids love this, adults love this, single men love this.

Pimples also love this.

There’s sugar, acidity, and dairy. A recipe for acne. Stop eating cereal if you have acne.

SOLUTION

Eating a light breakfast is much healthier and will help your acne. This is what I do.

I wake up and have two 8 oz glasses of filtered water with a tablespoon of pysllium husk. I then eat 2 pieces of crystallized ginger and go take a shower.

Afterwards, I’ll sometimes eat some light fruit. That’s it.

A couple hours later, I’ll eat “breakfast” as in scrambled eggs with some vegetables.

Doing this prolongs the fasting cycle that your body is still in and allows it to gradually transition into an absorption cycle. You don’t shock it with all this food right when you wake up.

You also reduce the acidity which will help reduce inflammation and therefore acne is reduced.

Me taking psyllium husk fiber also increases my fiber intake which helps my bowels, and if you know anything about acne you know that a healthy gut is pivotal to healthy skin.

I could go on forever. But trust me on this one, rethink your breakfast strategy and go light. If you want more details on how you can do this, get my book.
